Every artist in the freelance roster has accepted the rules of the system. They start a new name as they join, growing that name alongside the business.
A hierarchy can be corrupt. It can be rigid, dysfunctional and injust. But a meritocratic hierarchy based on competence, elevating the best to the top, is the most effective model of social organization.
This will sound strange to those of you who have absorbed the warped values of the western democratic model, which elevates personal freedom to a ridiculous extent. Freedom must be counterweighed by responsibility. Rules and structures are solidifying counterweights.

Greenpeace recently made a cool propaganda artwork that lampoons the energy costs of Bitcoin mining. Nevermind that Bitcoin mining can easily be done with environmentally friendly energy sources, plus many cryptocurrency projects have turned to the proof of stake protocol, eliminating mining in transaction processing. Thermal energy is already used for mining, some parts of the world are rich in this. The expansion of mining projects can thus be accomplished without much damage to the environment.
In fact, I invested into one project years ago that aimed at exploiting hydroelectric power in powering their farm. Would’ve been a sweet hustle, but the country they operated in banned mining.
Like most activists, Greenpeace are idiots. But their art is awesome!
