Today my work PC went bust. But because my early career in hentai was rife with trouble, I learned to prepare. I had my project files on two separate cloud storages and an external 2TB hard-drive. I also have some files on Discord and Slack. Meanwhile, all passwords are on a physical paper.
I also have a secondary laptop, which I’m now using. It’s laggy and old, but I can maintain communications with clients and freelancers and do less demanding projects while repairing / replacing the main laptop.
I plan to take my preparedness even further. Regular up-to-date backups in the clouds and the hard-drive, and more funds stashed for a rainy day. A physical copy of the password sheet, with more confusing hand-writing!
People these days don’t think ahead much. Hence when shit hits the fan, their entire lives can unravel instantly. If you’re not thinking what could go wrong, that exact calamity will happen, at the exact worst possible time.
